Commit To God’s Will For The Rest Of Your Life And Discover Your Life Fulfilled
This lesson is designed to help you keep the commitment you made when you confessed Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior. You did mean it when you confessed Jesus to be your Lord, I’m sure, but what’s important today is if you’re living that confession. Do you commit to God’s will everyday? If not, then you need to take a stand with your life and hand it over to Jesus.
Of course I don’t literally mean to hand over your life to Him in a physical way. God doesn’t need you to sacrifice your life for Him, Christ already did that. All we have to do is let ourselves go in Christ and rest, while we take His lead. If you’re saved and you didn’t realize or remember making Jesus Christ Lord of your life, then you were not saved according to Romans 10:9-13. So before going further I want to make sure that you have understanding of what should have happened when you were saved.
Romans 10:9-13 (ASV)
9 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: (for more information about salvation go here.
As you can see, receiving salvation means a confession with the mouth that Jesus Christ is our Lord and a belief with the heart that God raised Him from the dead. Sometimes we just say things, but don’t always mean them or we say things and don’t stop to think about what we’re doing. Well today I want you to think about what you did when you were saved and make a commitment to take it seriously. God will understand that you’re jumping into His plan for your life a little later than when you committed your life to Him. He’s waiting upon you and is ready to lead you down the right path for the rest of your life.
It’s difficult for many of us to think about giving up everything for Christ, but the truth is that when we give our all to God we don’t really lose anything at all, we find ourselves in Christ and in so doing we receive the best parts of our lives that can only be found when we commit to God’s will.
