Who do we listen to and how can we be sure that what we’re hearing will really work for us? If you’re a Christian, the answer is simple–YOU LOOK TO GOD! We let God guide us by following what He says in His Word, the Bible. The Bible is an instruction book for our lives, so the instructions for realizing your life purpose reality are most definitely included.
What Is Your Life Purpose Reality?
When we’re actively involved in God’s plans, purposes and pursuits for our lives, then we’re living our life purpose reality. Until then, we only have a dream waiting to happen. Our dreams don’t get activated until we look to God and seek His will. He will then lead us step by step, not all at once. This is because we all need preparation.
So even if you’re led in a direction where you have experience, you may still need refining in your character, your desire to follow God and your ability to yield to His direction. Just waiting for God to do something will keep you in a state of waiting for something to happen that never will because you have to willingly involve God in your dream before it can become a reality.
All that’s necessary to realize your life purpose reality is:
- to commit to God’s will for your life
- to commit to walking in what the Bible says
- to take God’s personal guidance for your life
If you take these three steps, then you’re good to go! You’re journey has just begun, but you can say to yourself without a doubt, “I’m living my life purpose, rather than saying,”I wonder what I’m suppose to do with my life.”
The next step is to: Look at your life purpose as an exciting adventure. This is the purpose of my site. Of course there are times when we must take the things of God seriously, but your journey with God should be looked upon with great excitement and joy. You should have many times where you laugh, have fun (not at other’s expense), and make those around you feel the excitement of the presence of God and want to share in it!
Personal Growth and Development Books/Information
While we can look to other sources for more enlightenment upon what God instructs us to do, we need to give the Bible first place in our lives. I encourage my readers to read books that may not mention scripture, but offer great information that reflects Biblical principles. By having knowledge of the scriptures, we can read such books and easily overlook any information that may not make Biblical sense, or just stop reading a book altogether. Personal growth and development books normally include great information about how to attain goals and remain focused upon each step until there is a positive conclusion, which is what we need to do as we follow Christ. We take the steps that God gives us and then accomplish them with His help. However, we need to discipline ourselves to do our part of the work. So whatever positive information we can use to keep our lives organized and moving forward we should use it.
I’ve also found reading biographies about Christians and others who have attained success in their ministries or businesses using Biblical principles or who are known to have great integrity and honesty, is a great way to get a better understanding about the success principles that are in the Bible. Reading about contemporary people who are proving with their lives that God’s Word guided them to their life purpose and gave them the ability to accomplish it can be as helpful as it is to read about the people from the Bible who received their life purposes from God. So while we should read about people who were heroes in the Bible, we can also read about modern day men and women who have submitted to God’s will to help give us confidence that God will work mightily in our lives too as we trust Him.
We can look to other sources as long as we keep God and His Word at the center of whatever we do or read concerning our lives and our life purpose. We should never follow a person, we always follow God. If we don’t, we’ll miss out on our life purpose reality because following others will lead us to their life purpose reality and we’ll “miss the boat” or waste lots of time. I did that with my older sister. I went to college to be a teacher because I had always followed what she did. I was like a little sheep, looking up to her every move, thinking that she was so wonderful I wanted to be just like her. Finally after going to college for a number of years without getting anywhere I realized that I didn’t want to teach children through the school system. After that, I began to see what I really wanted, however, I was so far off course by then, I didn’t know how to communicate with God to figure out how to put my life together through Christ.
It took me many years of searching from one church to the next, and reading many great Christian how-to books to figure it all out. So I’m a “late bloomer” with God. I’m hoping that this site will give you the information you need to go straight to God for His will and then trust Him to begin walking in your life purpose NOW!
Remain focused upon God in all that you do and you’ll receive God’s power and ability to accomplish your life purpose rather than seeking after your own endeavors which can lead you in the wrong direction.
What The Bible Teaches Concerning Our Life Purpose Reality In Christ
What can we expect from the Bible that we won’t find in personal growth and development books that teach life purpose guidance or from the big names in personal growth that millions of people follow every day?
The Bible is a road map for our lives. If we follow it we’ll have great success. Here is what will happen to you if you follow God through His Word and guidance:
Psalm 1:1-6 (NLT)
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2 But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. 4 But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. 5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. 6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
Look To God For Personal Guidance
The Bible has the answers to all the issues of life. And when you need personal guidance, you’re at an advantage when you’re walking in your life purpose reality because you’ll be developed in receiving guidance from God and acting upon it.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (KJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
