If you don’t understand God’s will and what it encompasses, then you won’t be able to live your life purpose.  When we’re saved, Galatians tells us that we became new creatures in Christ. Romans tells us that we must transform our minds with the Word of God.  So there’s a transition we’re required to make beginning from the time of our salvation.  While we’re never done being perfected in Christ, I’ve listed the 3-steps we must make as Christians.

Pray For God's Will

Understand God's Will

1. Receive Salvation

    Romans 10:10

10. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

The first step to living and understanding God’s will is to receive salvation through Jesus Christ. We hear the Word and believe by faith that we are now redeemed from sin and have become a part of the family of God. We also make a commitment to follow Christ and make Him the Lord of our lives. If we’re sincere, we’ll take our commitment to God and Christ seriously and move to the next step of God’s will which is living His Word.

2. Study The Word

John 1:1-14

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God’s Word is God.  If we want to know Him and understand what He wants us to do, then we need to read His Word, the Bible.  We must study it and meditate upon it to get it into our hearts and then we act upon it to make it an active part of our lives.  This is how we center upon God (Matt. 6:33) and live His Will or Word.
Romans 12:2 says to transform our minds with the Word of God in order to know what God wants and to receive His wisdom. This is how we center upon God and follow Jesus as our Lord and Savior. This means that once you’re saved, you follow Jesus by acting upon the Word as you learn it. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, so He is also the Word.

John 1:14 – The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

In order to live God’s purpose for your life, you need to live His Word. This is the position you need to take for learning God’s specific will for your life. God’s Word and His guidance are the tools you’ll need to discover and develop your life purpose.
It’s God’s will that each of His children take their place within the Body Of Christ.

3. Live Your Purpose.

Matt. 10:39

39. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

Here’s a question to ask yourself if you haven’t decided to live God’s will:

“What are you going to say when you stand before the Lord Jesus Christ and He asks you, ‘did you follow my plans for your life or your own?'”

The next commitment to make concerning God’s will is to seek His will that is specific for your life. It’s your responsibility to discover and develop your life purpose by seeking God through His Word and prayer.
